LANNY CRAIG JOHNSON

I was fascinated with art at a young age, drawing cartoons like Popeye, Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck. Eventually I turned my intrests to sketching with pencils and pastels in my highschool years. I graduated from Morgan Park High, In 1973 I was hired at US Steel I moved to the Iron Range and married my wife of forty years.

In my thirties I swayed my talents to oil and acrylic paintings. I worked for thirty-six years and then retired from the mines.

Now in my sixties I have picked up on sculpting clay to bronze. I received a Merit award for my first bronze sculpture "The Northwest Fur Trapper," from the 19th Annual Arts In Harmony Show and currently have my own studio in Cotton, Minnesota where I have been working on my sculpting.
